PATRICIA Quinn, cultural director of Temple Bar Properties since 1992, will take up her new post as director of the Arts Council on November 1st. "It has been brilliant, working with her," says Laura Magahy, managing director of Temple Bar Properties. "She has been a great colleague. She came in when the Temple Bar Properties framework was in place. We needed someone to implement it and that is what she did, in an extremely capable way. She is going to stay with us to see The Print Initiative through, which opens in two weeks. It will involve all the arts venues in Temple Bar and there will be an Irish and an international dimension.
"As for filling her post, that is something I will have to discuss with the board. We will probably change the post to that of advisory artistic director. It is now the end of phase one of the cultural programme, and all the arts venues have been built or renovated (except for the Project Arts Centre, which will go for planning permission at the end of the year). What I want us to concentrate on now is the idea of Temple Bar as an outdoor venue, where the streets themselves are the artistic space."
