Hopf violin among lots at Dublin Castle

A mid-18th century English violin and bow by Hopf is on offer at tomorrow's antiques and collectors fair in Dublin Castle. The non-musically minded may prefer an old cased set of test weights from the Weights and Measures inspectors. Other items on the stands include a range of china and porcelain, glassware, linen and lace, coins, medals and stamps. The fair opens to the public in the castle's Coach House at 10.30 a.m.

Small furniture feature of Kilkenny event

Kilkenny's summer antiques fair at the city's Newpark Hotel takes place tomorrow from 11 a.m. The event will have more than 40 stands, with a particular emphasis on small items of furniture from the Georgian to Edwardian periods, antique jewellery, silver, paintings and prints, books, coins and stamps. The next such regional fair takes place in Killarney in a month's time.
