Musical box among items of note in Charleville

Another house contents sale in the Cork region takes place tomorrow in Charleville. Here, a 19th century Swiss inlaid, rosewood cylinder musical box (£2,000-£3,000), a Victorian, mahogany D-end extension table (£3,000-£4,000), an Irish hunting table (£1,700-£2,000) and a George III mahogany sideboard (£1,500-£2,000) are among the items of interest to be sold by P.J. O'Gorman, Charleville, Co Cork, tomorrow as part of the sale of contents belonging to Mrs M.J. O'Keefe, Mallow, Co Cork.

There is also a selection of cut glass, china, silver, paintings, prints and clocks in the 300-lot sale. The auction, which will be held in the Community Hall, Chapel St, Charleville, from 1.30 p.m., includes the entire contents of the recently sold O'Keefe residence at Castle Grove. Viewing is from 2 p.m.6 p.m. today and tomorrow from 11.30 a.m.

About 250 lots of jewellery will be offered for sale by O'Reilly's next Wednesday, starting at 2.30 p.m., in their Exchange St auction rooms. A number of diamond rings and bracelets are expected to fetch the usual good prices. For example, a Ceylon sapphire cluster ring carries an estimate of £18,000-£20,000 and a Victorian three-row diamond bangle (c.1890) has a catalogue price of £7,000-£8,000. Early viewing of Irish art for Londoners

London-based readers can have an early look at the paintings which will be included in the James Adams & Bonhams Important Irish Art auction to be held in Dublin on May 27th. They go on view in Bonhams of Knightsbridge tomorrow and on Monday and Tuesday. A large and impressive show, there are many noteworthy pieces by many of Ireland's best known artists, such as Jack Butler Yeats, Paul Henry, Walter Osborne and Sean Keating. Buyers may, however, also be interested in a collection of watercolours by Mildred Ann Butler, which are being sold outside the family for the first time.

Up to £2,500 expected for rosewood davenport

A Victorian rosewood davenport - stamped and numbered - with an estimate of £1,800-£2,500 and a collection of Dinky and Corgi toys, many of which are in their original boxes and with a total estimate of £200-£250, are a sample of what is on offer at an Adams of Blackrock auction next Tuesday. The sale will open at 11 a.m.

Of the 500 lots of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture on sale, there are six Victorian wardrobes, two Georgian, mahogany chest of drawers and two early Victorian breakfast tables.
