Some nine months after it shut its doors, the Light House cinema in Dublin's Smithfield has reopened. Not wasting any time, new proprietors Element Pictures will, from today, screen W.E., Shame, J Edgarand The Artist.

The project does present a challenge for Element, which, hitherto a production and distribution company, is moving into exhibition for the first time. The cinema closed last April following the granting of a winding-up order to the site’s landlords.
