Mystery still surrounds Tony Scott’s tragic suicide on August 19th. The director’s family have, however, made moves to ensure that some good comes out of his early death. A scholarship has been established at the American Film Institute to honour Tony’s life and work.
“The family ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the fund to help, encourage and engage future generations of film-makers,” said a statement in the Hollywood Reporter.
It is now understood that Scott left a number of suicide notes for various friends, associates and family members. The contents have not been revealed in detail. But a spokesman from the Los Angeles coroner’s office has confirmed that there was no mention of health issues in the notes.
