The 33rd Celtic Media Festival opens in Derry this week with a screening of a movie on the city entitled Derry on Screen. The picture features footage of Derry’s residents drawn from The Nerve Centre’s North West Digital Film Archive.
Bronagh Gallagher, a proud daughter of the Foyle, will be on hand to present the film. “It’s such an exciting time for Derry in the lead up to the City of Culture year in 2013,” the actor and singer commented. “Our city’s people are rightly renowned for their spirit and creativity and this film will be a tremendous testament to them. It’s also a fantastic legacy for the Celtic Media Festival to bequeath the city.”
The festival runs from April 18th to April 20th. celticmediafestival.co.uk.
