The Boys are back:
Backstreet Boys have announced a Dublin gig in support of their seventh album, This Is Us. The manband will play The O2 on November 13th. Tickets go on sale this morning.
Calling up Cave's book:
Nick Cave's new novel, The Death of Bunny Munro, will be made available as an iPhone application before it's published next month. Cave will also narrate the text for the App, which will be accompanied by a soundtrack composed by Warren Ellis.
Making his Mark:
Author and drug smuggler Howard Marks will perform with former Happy Mondays guitarist Kav Sandhu at Galway's Cuba on September 4th and Dublin's Eamon Doran's on the 5th. The gigs tie in with Sandhu's new Mr Nice EP, named for Marks's nickname.
Fantasy CD release:
Owen Pallett, aka violin virtuoso Final Fantasy, has signed to Domino for his third album, Heartlands, in 2010.
