With only in the region of 200 lots, the art and antiques auction being conducted by HOK Fine Art in Blackrock, Co Dublin, next Wednesday looks like being a very manageable affair. Nonetheless, there are some attractive items on offer, such as this early 19th century mahogany secretaire bookcase with its particularly elegant glazed upper section; it carries a pre-sale estimate of £1,000 to £1,500, as does a 19th century mahogany and satinwood inlaid sideboard.

The lot, which looks likely to achieve the day's highest sum, is an early 19th century Irish mahogany crossbanded fold-over card table (£1,500 to £2,000) but there is an abundance of pieces of furniture with relatively inexpensive estimates.

Among these are a mid-19th century mahogany-framed sofa (£800 to £1,200), and the base of an 18th century mahogany chest on chest (£600 to £1,000).

The sale begins at 2.30 p.m.
