IN an article headed "I cannot imagine life with a pair of legs" published in The Irish Times of Wednesday, May 8th, 1996, concerning Ms Kim Morton, a Thalidomide victim, a critical reference was made to a "legal team of people". It has been drawn to our attention that this is capable of being understood to refer to the above-named firm of solicitors. It was not our intention that this should be so and we regret and apologise for any distress that the article may have caused the partners of Edwards & Company.

The Irish Times has agreed to pay to Messrs Edwards & Co., Solicitors, damages and their legal costs to date.
