AN interesting house contents auction is scheduled to be held by Den is Drum next Thursday, beginning at 2.3 0 p.m. Conducted on the premises at 10 York Road, Rathmines, Dublin, the auction offers some good solid furniture, not least of which is a set of six William IV mahogany dining chairs, which carry an estimate of £1,000-£1,500.

Among the more unusual items is a Dutch marquetry cabinet, which has bombeshaped drawers below and doors above. Measuring seven-and-a-half feet tall and approximately 6in deep it carries an estimate of £3 000-£5,000.

Also included in the sale is a Victorian three-piece Chesterfield suite, which has been re-upholstered in the recent past (estimate £700-£1,009). The upper rooms contain some solid mahogany Victorian wardrobes and bedroom furniture. In total there are some 300 lots in this auction.
