The Green Mile, by Stephen King (Penguin, fl.99 in UK), was written in instalments, six altogether.character to relate each story. This one concerns Paul Edgecombe, chief warden at Cold Mountain Penitentiary during the 1930s. He reminisces about life on F Block, his co-workers and the inmates, who are centred around "Old Sparky". Having finished this particular book, I was desperate for the second one. My curiosity was finally satisfied after the sixth one and I highly recommend these books, which are good value for money.
