AS expected, the auction at O Reilly's of Upper Exchange Street in Dublin last Wednesday saw jewellery make the day's best prices, with an Edwardian three stone diamond ring of approximately five and a half carats making £12,200. A solitaire diamond ring weighing just over three carats and set in 18-carat yellow gold sold for £9,000, a solitaire diamond ring of approximately 1.7 carats made £3,200 and an art deco diamond cluster ring set in platinum sold for £1,300. A Victorian diamond floral brooch fetched £3,000.
Among the pieces of silver a George II soup ladle by George Halloran of Limerick dating from circa 1760 sold for £1,750.
