THE next fine art auction at O'Reilly's of Upper Exchange Street, Dublin, takes place next Wednesday afternoon, starting at 1 p.m. As usual with this auction house, there will be a strong showing of jewellery, such as a Victorian gold three stone diamond ring of approximately three and a half carats (estimate, £4,000-£4,500) and an 18 carat five stone diamond ring of approximately four and a half carats (£6,000-£7,000), together with an oval shaped sapphire and diamond cluster ring (£3,000-£3,500).
In the silver section, there are two Irish Victorian two handled cups, dated 1896 and 1900 respectively (£1,000-£1,200); a George IV Irish coffee pot by E. Crofton of Dublin (£1,200-£1,500); a large, late 19th century Sheffield silver punchbowl (£850-£1,000); and a pair of Victorian silver candlesticks, also Sheffield and from the same period (£500-£700).
