A typographical error occurred in a letter from Dr Bob McCormack in yesterday's editions, under the heading "Family law courts". The reference to "Articles 16 and 10" of the European Convention on Human Rights should have read "Articles 6 and 10".

A report headed "Argos withdraws 17 jewellery lines" in last Tuesday's editions referred to problems with standards of hallmarking. The Assay Office, Dublin, wishes to clarify that this is a UK problem that has nothing to do with Irish hallmarks or the Irish Assay Office.

A report on a Galway Simon's resettlement project in yesterday's Out of the West column gave an incorrect figure for the amount of grant-aid promised by the Department of the Environment. The Department has pledged £36,000 towards the project over the next three years.

In last Tuesday's EL supplement, the article headed "A lack of attention?" referred to Sally Phalan as Sally Phelan. And she is more correctly described as a psychotherapist rather than a psychologist as stated.
