In his opinion column on Saturday, Dick Walsh referred to "weapons brought ashore at Larne in the North and Howth and Rathcoole in the South". Rathcoole should have read Kilcoole.

The city in Ecuador evacuated due to volcano activity is Banos, not Baqos as stated in An Irishwoman's Diary on Monday. The electronic transmission of the tilde symbol caused the problem.

The winner of the Best Smaller Museum award in the recent Gulbenkian Foundation/Heritage Council Awards was the County Museum in Dundalk, not Dalkey as stated in a report on November 30th. Dalkey Castle and Heritage Centre received a commendation.
