A picture of a homeless woman on the streets of Kiev was used to illustrate articles on poverty in Russia in the editions of September 4th. Kiev is of course the capital of Ukraine.
Contrary to what was stated in the report headed "Solicitors advised to offer free services in some cases" in Thursday's editions, a civil legal aid scheme does operate, through the Legal Aid Board under the Civil Legal Aid Act 1995. It provided legal aid services to almost 14,000 clients in 1997.
