An article in last Monday's editions headed "Assisting new life" said that intrauterine insemination by donor at Clane General Hospital, Kildare, was "a historic development in the history of assisted conception in the Republic". We are advised that, in fact, the procedure has been available at the Morehampton Clinic since 1994.

A report headed "Official IRA blamed for shooting in south Belfast", in yesterday's editions, said that Provisional IRA members had broken into the home of a 26-year-old Workers' Party member last Sunday and had shot him twice. A spokesman states that the victim has no connection with the Workers' Party.
