A LATE 19th century mahogany and inlaid satinwood bureau bookcase sold for £4,100 at Sheppards's recent sale in Durrow, Co Laois.
In the same sale a Victorian walnut credenza sold for £2,900; a handsome mahogany inlaid bookcase, lot 190, made £3,200; a Sheraton mahogany and inlaid display cabinet, dating from around 1900, fetched £2,800; and a Victorian rosewood and marquetry bonheur du jour sold for £2,300.
A fine pair of 19th century Capo di Monte plaques, depicting the elements of fire and water, sold for £550; a 19th century pierced brass serpentine fender sold for £850; and a set of five Chinese watercolours on rice paper made £500 under the hammer.
