A BELFAST man wanted for extradition to Germany on charges connected with an IRA mortar attack on a British army barracks there was remanded in custody for another week yesterday.

A full extradition request from Germany for Mr James Anthony Oliver Albert Corry was handed in to the Dublin District Court sitting at Green Street.

Mr Corry (28), of Hillman Street, Belfast, is wanted on a warrant seeking his extradition for causing explosions in Germany and the attempted murder of British soldiers stationed there on June 28th last.

He was originally arrested in Dublin last month on a provisional warrant from Germany.

Mr Brian Murray BL, for the State, applied for a remand in custody until next Thursday.

Mr Corry's counsel, Mr Tom O'Connell BL, consented to the remand and said he understood there was "voluminous material" connected with the extradition request. Judge Desmond Hogan remanded, Mr Corry in custody until next Thursday.

A triple mortar attack was launched on the Quebec barracks of the British army in Osnabruck on June 28th. No one was injured in the attack. German police said a five-member IRA unit was involved.
