IN the latest round of The Arts Council's film and video awards, the top award of £10,000 went to producer Tomas Hardiman, director Frankie McCafferty and writer Ian Kilroy for the short film, Brood, based on Kilroy's poem of alienated provincial urban young people in modern Ireland.
Archivist Liam Wylie was awarded £9,000 towards his documentary, Harrest Emergency, while Jean Pasley receives £6,000 for her short film script, To The Mountain. A comedy of errors set in the West of Ireland, The Life Of Stuff (directed by Lisa Mulcahy, produced by Howard Gibbons and written by Clare Dowling and Marie Therese Duggan) was awarded £5,000, and a further award of £5,000 went to Hi8us Projects Ltd for the half hour Midlands drama, Shifting.
