The Irish Antique Dealers' Association has just announced details of this year's Ronald McDonnell Bursary. Worth £2,000 to the recipient, this annual opportunity commemorates the well-known late dealer whose premises were on Kildare Street in Dublin. Over the past few years, those in receipt of the bursary have been able to further studies in fields from book binding and needlework to picture restoration. In order to qualify, the applicant must be resident in Ireland and demonstrate both talent and commitment to undertake a specialised or advanced course at home or abroad in restoration and conservation. They also need to have previous experience in the area they propose to study. Closing date for receipt of applications is August 31st.
