There are plenty of antiques and collectable fairs across the country this bank holiday weekend, not least the event being held in the Glendalough Hotel, Co Wicklow next Monday, starting at 10.30 a.m. Among the items are three charcoal drawings by Sean O'Sullivan of James Connolly, Patrick Pearse and Thomas Clarke. They are signed and dated 1936 by the artist.
Also next Monday, there is an antiques and collectables fair organised for Dublin's Newman House on St Stephen's Green from 11 a.m. onwards. Dealers will include specialists in silver, porcelain, prints and military medals. Meanwhile, at the Forte Posthouse in Dunmurry, Ulster's longest running one day fair makes its 15th annual appearance from noon and is expected to attract 30 exhibitors, offering an enormous range of goods.
Tomorrow there are also a couple of other fairs, one of them at the Bridge Centre, Greystones, Co Wicklow, from 11 a.m. At the same time, another is scheduled to take place at the Central Hotel, Mallow. The latter first ever County Cork Antiques and Collectables Fair covers everything from furniture, jewellery, porcelain and silver to lace and linen.
