ITEMS of jewellery were the best selling lots at the Thomas P. Adams sale last Tuesday in Blackrock, Dublin. An Edwardian ruby and diamond ribbon bow brooch fetched £3,700 under the hammer; a diamond solitaire ring sold for £2,200; and an Art Deco diamond brooch made £1,800. Other prices were: a gold and diamond tennis bracelet, £1,500; a gold and diamond necklace and matching bracelet, £1,500 and a Victorian Etruscan style gold oval brooch and earrings set, with turquoise and pearls, £750.
Among the furniture lots a Victorian mahogany extending dining table made £1,500, a set of seven 19th century Sheraton dining chairs sold for £1,300 a late 19th century demi lune mahogany and satinwood banded table made £1,050, and a George III bow front sideboard sold for £920.
