A man has been arrested after the body of a woman was found in Gorey, Co Wexford, early on Thursday morning.
Gardaí and the emergency services were called to an incident at a residence on Baile Eoghan shortly after 3am. The woman, who was in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man, also in his 30s, was arrested and is being held at a Garda station in the Eastern region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
The scene has been preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau, and the Office of the State Pathologist and coroner notified. A postmortem is expected to be arranged.

A senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room has been established at Gorey Garda station. A family liaison officer has also been assigned to support the family.
Gardaí are appealing to witnesses to come forward. They are also seeking dashcam footage from motorists who were in the vicinity of Baile Eoghain at the time of the incident.
