Zapa Technology, a new Irish company set up by former Alphyra chief executive John Nagle, has secured €2.5 million in venture capital.
The company, which is due to launch a new customer technology product known as ZapaTag in the coming months, said Irish venture capital firm Delta Partners had offered financial backing to enable it to roll-out a number of applications.
Zapa is one of the first companies in Europe to use Near Field Communications (NFC) in its products. Operating at 13.56 MHz, NFC enables communication between electronic devices such as mobile phones.
