One of the longest established PR firms in the country, Wilson Hartnell celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. It started off as a small department in the Wilson Hartnell advertising agency, but has grown to employ 21 people.

According to managing director, Mr Mary Finan, business has doubled over the last five years and total turnover this year is expected to approach the £3.5 million mark while fee income after costs should be more than £2.0 million. The firm is now wholly-owned by Ogilvy & Mather which is in turn a unit of WPP Plc, the largest PR and advertising group in the world. The firm's wide range of clients include leading Irish firms such as the Jefferson Smurfit Group, which has been with the company since the 1970s, and Guinness. It also acts for Marks & Spencer, Unilever, Digital, the National Lottery and Dublin Zoo.
