Nice to see someone in the high-tech sector coming clean at last. Volta, the new, Dublin-based digital media company sent a press release to the Margin this week, confessing that anyone thinking about doing business online has to clamber through too much "marketing jargon" and "the latest buzzwords for banking online" before getting to the actual commerce.
To soften the blow, Volta has developed an online Gobbledygook-to-English dictionary, according to each and every technological term its meaning, or meaninglessness.
Some examples: Impressions - Webspeak for the number of times an online ad is viewed.
