Visitor numbers are up over 10 per cent according to data from the Central Statistics Office.

There were 1.56 million overseas visitors between April and June 1998 compared with 1.41 million in the same period last year. At the same time, the number of visits abroad by Irish residents was 891,000 an increase of 11.5 per cent.
