The US will make agricultural reform a top priority in the next round of global trade talks, targeting the European Union's farm export subsidies, a senior US official said yesterday. "[U.S. Agriculture] Secretary [Mr Dan] Glickman wants to send a clear message to the world that agriculture is a top priority for the United States and that we remain fully committed to open markets and fair trade," Mr Lon Hatamiya of the US Department of Agriculture's foreign agricultural service told a conference.
