THE US owned company AngioDynamics is to create up to 100 jobs at Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.
The company, to be located at the IDA advance factory in the town, said yesterday it would start to recruit staff this month, and expects to employ 100 people over the next three years.
AngioDynamics is seeking to recruit a general manager to head the Wexford operation.
Announcing the new jobs yesterday, the Minister for Agriculture, Mr Yates, said most of the jobs would be for people with Leaving Certificate standard of education, with extensive in house training planned for all employees.
A subsidiary of the US E-Z-Em, Corporation AngioDyamics manufactures medical devices for use in cardiovascular and other heart procedures. It plans to invest £2.5 million in modifying the building and installing new equipment at the Enniscorthy plant, which will become its European headquarters.
Established in 1991, AngioDynamics has operations in Britain, Belgium and Holland.
The latest announcement follows expansions at a number of multinational companies in Co Wexford.
In May, the Equifax Database company reported its plans to double its workforce in Wexford. An Australian packaging company, IP Europe, has also announced plans to expand its, business at Gorey.
