Imelda May joins Tourism Ireland bid to attract British visitors

Two-part Sky Arts series sees singer present Irish ‘literary travelogue’

Singer-songwriter Imelda May is promoting Ireland as a tourist destination to British visitors in a two-part television series Voices of Ireland that will premiere on Sky Arts and Sky's Now streaming app from Tuesday.

The "literary travelogue" – a collaboration between Sky, Tourism Ireland and production company Red Shoe Productions – will see Ms May meet well-known personalities including Moya Brennan, Stephen Rea and Sharon Shannon.

Tourism Ireland said publicity and broadcasts such as Voices of Ireland were “a key element” of its programme of activity and were designed “to inspire travellers everywhere to put Ireland on their holiday wish-list”.

Filming for the series took place at various literary and cultural hotspots around Ireland earlier this year.
