The current sales and marketing director of Today FM, Mr Dave Hammond, has been appointed general manager at the station. The company made the appointment after a "strategy review" to decide on management's plans for the future.

Mr Tom Steele, who has been acting as chief executive and director of programmes for the past year, will continue his role for the foreseeable future, said a statement. However, a spokeswoman said he would be reducing the number of days he worked at the station and that Mr Hammond would now be responsible for day-to-day operations.
