The tribunal is inquiring into three property deals: the purchase of Doncaster Rovers Football Club Ltd, for in excess of £4 million: and subsequent lesser deals involving small properties in Cheadle and Mansfield.

The total involved is approximately £5 million and the tribunal is interested in so far as the deals might have involved an attempt by businessman Denis O'Brien to confer a benefit on former government minister Michael Lowry.
