A High Court injunction application by businessman JP McManus (60) over fake profiles of him on the Facebook social networking website has been struck out.
The case was struck out today after the court was told the pages had been taken down.
The multimillionaire businessman and race horse owner brought High Court proceedings against Facebook Ireland over the social networking website’s alleged failure to take down a number of profiles purporting to be him.
On Friday, lawyers for Mr McManus secured permission from Ms Justice Mary Laffoy to serve short notice of injunction proceedings against Facebook Ireland over alleged failure to take down three identified Facebook sites.
Separate proceedings by Mr McManus against Facebook for alleged breach of privacy will be heard later.
