DSG Retail Ireland, the company behind Currys and PC World, made a pre-tax loss of €8 million last year, writes Gordon Deegan
According to accounts filed with the Companies Office, they show that DSG Retail Ireland Ltd’s revenues fell by 10 per cent from €166 million to €148 million in the year to the end of May last.
DSG recorded a pre-tax loss of €9 million in 2009.
The drop in revenues is partly explained by the company closing three stores during the year. The numbers employed by the company fell by 100 during the year to 659 with staff costs falling 14 per cent from €18.1 million to €15.6 million.
