iGame Family, €99

Like the iPod, docks intended for use with Apple’s media player are becoming a bit more versatile. The iGame Family is a mix of everything: an iPod dock and games console – complete with motion-sensitive technology – that hooks up to your TV, transforming your small media player into a large screen device.

Music, podcasts and video footage can be played through the TV directly from the device. It comes preloaded with 10 games that range from action to brain training, and are bought on Gamecards or downloaded from the company’s website and played using SD cards.

Like the Nintendo Wii, the controllers are motion-sensitive, although there is no need for any extra sensors with the iGame. Like most consoles, you will have to buy extra controllers for multiplayer games. It even has Apples stamp of approval, with Made for iPod certification.

Vuzix iWear Wrap 920

The concept of wearable technology may be alien to some people, but the Vuzix Wrap 920 video eyewear could be the one that converts them. The glasses will connect to devices with a video output – your iPod, portable DVD players, digital camera, laptop, even a mobile phone – and give you a personal video screen to view your video footage.

Resembling a pair of sunglasses, the display is equivalent to a 67-inch screen as seen from 10 feet, and supports standard 2D and common 3D formats. You can adjust the picture via an on-screen menu, with controls to alter brightness, contrast, hue and colour saturation. The box includes detachable noise-isolating earphones, so you can have your own private cinema experience.

iDapt i3 charger, €49.95

Chances are these days you have more than one device that needs charging at once.

Music player, hand-held games console, mobile phone – all need power and all have different chargers.

Often the problem is finding them, or even enough plugs to charge all your devices at once.

The iDapt i3 charger solves this problem. Instead of a series of cables that get snarled up, you have a single charging plate with three slots for different pins.

The flat plate can sit on a bedside locker or a desk, and all you have to do is buy the extra pins for the devices you need to charge.

Up to three can be powered up at any one time, and you can even use the interchangeable tips for charging your digital camera or rechargeable batteries.

The iDapt i3 comes in a range of colours, including silver, pink and black.
