ROS, the Revenue Online Service introduced in September last year to provide the Revenue Commissioners' business customers with a quick and secure method for the electronic filing and payment of tax, has now been extended to cater for individual taxpayers. From tomorrow, it will be possible to:
pay preliminary tax and balance payments for income tax, corporation tax and capital gains tax by ROS;
use Laser cards to make tax payments by ROS;
access online income tax, corporation tax and capital gains tax details;
electronically file Form 11s with accompanying accounts' details; and
from November, file CT1 forms with accompanying accounts' details.
To avail of this service and become a ROS customer, taxpayers need to visit the website at www.ros.ie and follow the three steps below.
1. Apply for your RAN (ROS Access Number), which is posted to you by land mail.
2. Input the RAN and await the receipt of a system password, which will also be posted to you by land mail.
3. Enter your password to retrieve your digital certificate.
