Study shows many use Internet for job hunting

An Irish survey on job hunting has identified the growing importance of the Internet for recruitment

An Irish survey on job hunting has identified the growing importance of the Internet for recruitment. Forty two per cent of men surveyed and over a third of women (35 per cent) said they use the Internet either regularly or occasionally for job hunting. The survey is based on questionnaires received from 150 people registered with Sales Placement, the sales and marketing recruitment company.

The survey also found a considerable level of interest in the Infolive Jobfinder Web site (www.jobfinder.ie) which recently won the Irish Business Website of the Year award. Thirty per cent of men and 22 per cent of women surveyed said they had viewed the site when looking for jobs.

According to Ms Liz Leavy, general manager of Sales Placement (www.sales-placement.ie): "Being able to check on available jobs 24 hours a day, seven days a week and to be able to send a CV almost instantly to a recruitment company or potential employer is such a tremendous advantage for those in the job market."
