STEIFEL Laboratorie, the American pharmaceuticals manufacturer is to invest £12 million in an expansion of its Sligo plant, creating 60 jobs in the process. Stiefel manufactures pharmaceuticals for skin disorders such as acne, psoriasis and eczema and currently employs 200 people. Stiefel has grown substantially since it first set up in Sligo in 1975. The original 5,000 sq ft of production space will have increased to almost 100,000 sq ft when the latest expansion is complete.
