The domestic software sector continues to have significant global potential because of Ireland's educational environment, helpful tax position and positive European situation, a technology expert said yesterday.

Mr Charles Elliot, technology strategist at Goldman Sachs, told the national conference of the Irish Software Association that there were grounds for cautious optimism that the global technology sector was recovering.
