A SECURE e-mail service for lawyers, endorsed by the Law Society, was introduced yesterday. It is the latest in communications technology for what has traditionally been regarded as a staid profession, writes Eibhir Mulqueen.
Mr Frank Daly, president of the Law Society, said SecureMail was a customised service for solicitors and barristers which would be cost effective and confidential. SecureMail would replace the fax machine as a method of document transmission, he added.
The facility is being provided by LawLink Ltd, which is 70 per cent owned by IFG and 30 per cent owned by the Law Society.
