This week the focus will be on the State’s labour market, with live register figures due for release on Wednesday. The figures will be closely watched for any signs that unemployment levels declined in January, following the drop in the seasonally-adjusted live register numbers in December.
Meanwhile Thursday’s exchequer return figures will give a snapshot of Ireland’s budgetary position in the opening month of 2012.
