Business Protection Services Ltd (BPSL), an Irish company specialising in contingency planning for businesses, has been acquired by Sema Group Recovery Services (SG-RS) for an undisclosed sum.

BPSL's existing management and staff will be retained, and will continue to operate under the same name. BPSL specialises in partnership planning for organisations and the provision of alternative office facilities containing mirrored computer systems. BPSL says the acquisition will boost its plans to expand in Belfast, open a recovery centre in Cork and increase its Dublin recovery seat capacity from over 600 positions to around 1,800 by mid-2000. BPSL currently employs 26 people and has plans for further recruitment.
