Suparule Sa, a subsidiary of Limerick-based SMF Technologies, has signed a £500,000 (€635,000) contract with Telkom SA, the South African telecommunications utility for the supply of voltage proximity sensors. The sensors emit an alarm in the proximity of electrical cables.
SMF Technologies, based in Limerick since 1989, develops patented technologies to measure electrical current. Last year it had turnover of £1.25 million.
