Fyffes chief executive David McCann was paid €927,000 last year, its annual report shows. This included a basic salary of €681,000, a performance bonus of €225,000 and other benefits worth €21,000.

Mr McCann’s pay fell 27 per cent compared to his 2009 package of €1,268,000.

The fruit importer’s chief operating officer Coen Bos was the second highest paid executive, with a package of €614,000, down from €817,000. Finance director Tom Murphy received €497,000, down from €663,000. The total paid to the three executive directors and four non-executive directors was €2.69 million, down from €3.4 million.
