REHAB has urged the Minister for Finance, Mr Quinn, to make provision for the implementation of the recommendations of the Commission on the Status of People with Disabilities in the Budget. Rehab director, Ms Angela Kerins, said yesterday that the report highlighted the need for care services, transport, personal assistants and employment initiatives. "The support services which have been highlighted by these various reports are vitally important. They will allow people with disabilities to be truly integrated into their communities" she said.

People with disabilities would be watching the Budget carefully to see how the Government used this last major opportunity to fulfil its promises in its Programme for Government.
