Lego, Europe's biggest toymaker, says first-half profits jumped 60 per cent as it sold more building block products based on the Star Warsmovies and classic Lego City series.
Net income increased to 684 million kroner (€92 million) from 427 million kroner in the same period a year earlier, the Danish company said. Sales rose 23 per cent to 4.37 billion kroner.
The company said it had expanded capacity with new block-moulding machines in Denmark, Hungary and Mexico because of “sustained” growth expectations. – (Bloomberg)
