THE Irish Planning Institute has elected Mr John Spain as its new president. Mr Spain currently works in planning in Dublin where he is the principal of John Spain & Associates, a planning consultancy organisation.
Mr Ronan Goggin was recently appointed general manager of BCP Stockbrokers' Cork branch. Mr Goggin had worked as a senior equity dealer for more than two years in BCP's Dublin head office.
Mr Gareth Brown has been appointed general manager of toll operations at National Toll Roads. Mr Brown has 18 years' operational management experience in the customer-focused transport industry. Having worked for DHL for 10 years, Mr Brown has spent the past eight years as airport manager with Servisair.
Antefacto, which provides server management systems, has announced the appointment of Mr John Fleming to its board of directors. Mr Fleming also joins Antefacto as vice-president of sales and marketing. Before joining Antefacto Mr Fleming worked at Sun Microsystems, where he was responsible for its European channel programme, including the design and implementation of new strategic business practices.
Tesco Ireland has named Mr Michael Small as store manager of Bloomfields in D·n Laoghaire. Before taking up the post, Mr Small worked as store manager in Wicklow for one year. Previous to this, Mr Small was store manager in a number of Stewarts and Crazy Prices stores in Northern Ireland.
Forstmann Little has named Mr Gordon A Holmes a general partner of the firm, making him the firm's sixth general partner. Mr Holmes joined Forstmann Little as an associate in 1998. Previously, he spent five years working in the investment banking division at Goldman Sachs & Co.
PR consultancy Keating & Associates has made a number of strategic appointments. Founder Mr Pat Keating has become executive chairman. Mr Keating will also retain responsibility for a portfolio of clients while continuing to develop the company's growth strategy. Mr Alan Dixon, who joins Keating & Associates from Enterprise Ireland, has been named as managing director. At Enterprise Ireland, Mr Dixon was divisional manager of industrial products and market development with responsibility for healthcare, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, construction products, and paper print and packaging industries. Mr Eddie O'Sullivan joins Keating & Associates from IDA Ireland, as a consultant in planning, environment and construction services.
Network365 has strengthened its management with the appointment of Mr Pax Andersson as vice-president of sales. Mr Andersson joins the company from Enhanced Global Convergence Services in Britain. Before this, Mr Andersson worked for TimePlex, SAAB Combitech Preseco in Sweden and IBM. At Network365, Mr Andersson will be responsible for building the company's global sales and developing its existing sales offices in the US and the European, Middle East and Africa regions.
