Mr Dermot Browne has been appointed manager of Swiftcall's business services department. He joins the telecoms company from Eircom, where he spent six years working in the sales and service of business solution packages.
Aircraft Management Technologies (AMT), the Dublin-based aviation industry solutions provider, has appointed Mr Rob Munro as software development manager. He will work with AMT to develop information system technology that will automate and streamline operations within the aviation industry. He previously worked as a software engineer manager with Dialogic Corporation, a subsidiary of Intel in New Zealand and the Republic. He is a native of New Zealand.
Siemens Business Services has appointed Mr Robert Paddon as a director of business development. He joins Siemens from Vision Consulting.
Financial planning firm Financial Engineering Networks (FEN) has announced the appointment of Mr Kevin Kirwan as its new investment manager. He will be responsible for reviewing and identifying investment opportunities for the company's clients through direct investment and pooled investment instruments. Mr Kirwan has many years of experience in financial services and recently acted as portfolio manager for ABN Amro in its private client division.
The Carphone Warehouse, the independent mobile phone retailer, has appointed Mr Eoin Thompson as corporate sales manager. He previously worked with Digifone and will oversee the expansion of the company's sales function.
The Evening Echo has appointed Mr Dan Linehan to the newly created position of chief executive. The Echo is to become a separate company within the Thomas Crosbie Holdings group of companies. Mr Linehan joined the organisation in 1988 as management accountant in Examiner Publications. In 1992 he became industrial relations manager. He has been chief executive of the Waterford News & Star for the past four years, recently also holding the post of chief executive of The Kingdom. He is a chartered accountant.
Mr Kevin Gallacher has been appointed head of business development at Montgomery Oppenheim. He replaces Mr John Conway who will be leaving the company at the end of this month. Mr Gallacher joined Montgomery in May as sales and marketing manager. He has 12 years' experience in investment marketing and holds a Master's degree in investment analysis.
Dublin-based wireless integration software company XIAM has announced the recent appointment of Mr Colm Doherty as vice-president for global sales. He joined the company in August and is responsible for heading XIAM's international sales and for developing further distribution channels.

She previously worked with MSL advertising, which was taken over by TMP in 1997. Ms Marsha Dempsey has been given responsibility for business development. She was previously sales and marketing director with IT Appointments, which was recently taken over by Monster.ie.
