Pensions Board extends deadline

The Pensions Board has extended the deadline for underwater pension funds to submit recovery plans to the regulator

The Pensions Board has extended the deadline for underwater pension funds to submit recovery plans to the regulator. The board said it would grant an extra five months to schemes due to file-funding proposals this year. However, there is no extension for schemes that had been due to file proposals in 2011 anyway.

The move is designed to allow affected defined-benefit pension schemes take into account the new higher retirement age for State pensions as well as other proposed changes.
